PROPOSED TOUR ITINERARY  – THE MAIN TOUR
(Pre tour accommodation in Athens is not included in the package price)

DAY 1: Central Greece and Meteora Monasteries
Pick up from your hotel in Athens and departure towards Delfoi ancient site. Individual visit to the museum and the site (admission fee to be paid on the spot). Lunch break and afternoon departure towards Kalambaka, near Meteora monasteries. O/N in Kalambaka, hotel Famissi Eden 4* or similar.

DAY 2: Greek mountains
Morning visit to two Meteora monasteries (entrance fee included). Drive north to the picturesque village of Metsovo for coffee break. Continue to Ioanina lake and city. Afternoon at leisure, we recommend a boat ride to the island on Ioanina lake. O/N in Ioanina, hotel Politia 4* or similar

DAY 3: Welcome to Albania
Drive towards the biggest port in the area Igoumenitsa. Crossing the Greek – Albania border. Afternoon visit to Butrinti ancient site (private guided tour, entrance fee included). Overnight in Saranda, Hotel Grand 4* or similar.

DAY 4: The Albanian coastline
After breakfast drive along the picturesque Albanian coastline, via Llogara NP with panoramic views of Ionian sea. Passing the city of Vlore and arrival to the biggest Albanian port Durres. Recommended to visit in Durres are remains of the ancient theatre, Archeological museum, the Durres tower… Drive to Tirana, Albanian capital. O/N in Tirana, hotel Mondial 4* or similar.

DAY 5: Tirana and welcome to Macedonia
In a morning private guided Tirana city tour. Drive towards Macedonia and St. Naum monastery. Visit the monastery (inside) possibility to have a boat ride on the lake, above the springs of Black Drim river. Overnight at hotel Millenium palace Ohrid 4* or similar.

DAY 6: Ohrid and Ohrid lake
Ohrid walking tour in a morning (full day private guided tour, entrance fee included). Visit to the most important Ohrid sites – The Ohrid fortress (inside) the Holly area of Plaosnik with new St Klement’s church (inside) the small church of St John in Kaneo (outside) and the cathedral church of St Sofia (inside. Afternoon drive along the lake to the south part and St. Naum monastery. Visit to the monastery. Drive back to Ohrid for overnight at hotel Millenium palace Ohrid 4* or similar.

DAY 7: West Macedonia and Skopje
Drive towards Skopje via Mavrovo NP, on the picturesque road along Black Drim and Radika rivers. Upon arrival in Skopje, private guided Skopje walking tour, with visit to Skopje old town, the main square and pedestrian zone. Overnight in Skopje, Hotel Ibis Center or similar.

DAY 8: Kosovo
Leaving Macedonia and passing into Kosovo, the youngest European country. Visit to Grachanica monastery (inside) site protected by UNESCO. Coffee break at the capital Pristina and afternoon drive to the picturesque town of Prizren. Overnight in Prizren, hotel Theranda 4* or similar.

DAY 9: Montenegro tour
Morning departure to Montenegro via Albania. Passing Podgorica and visit to Cetinje, the former capital of Montenegro. Possibility to visit some of many museums in this city. Afternoon drive towards the coastal town Budva for O/N, hotel 4*.

DAY 10: Boka Kotorska bay and Dubrovnik
Drive along picturesque coast line of Boka Kotorska bay. Stop over at Kotor and individual visit to the old town. Departure towards Montenegro – Croatia border and arrival in Dubrovnik. In the afternoon, transfer to Dubrovnik Old town to visit. (Private guided city tour is possible on request, with supplement). Overnight in Dubrovnik, hotel 3*.

DAY 11: Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Today we are entering Bosnia and Herzegovina. Drive along the Adriatic coast and the canyon of Neretva river. Visit to Mostar and private guided Mostar city tour, passing the Old Bridge. Late afternoon arrival to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina for O/N

DAY 12: From Sarajevo to Split
Private guided Sarajevo city tour by walking, visiting the most important sights in the city center, including the famous Old bazaar. Afternoon drive towards Croatia, with stop at Medjugorje. Arrival in Split in the evening. Overnight in Split, hotel Globo 4* or similar

DAY 13: Split and Zadar
Morning private guided walking tour in Split. Later on, drive to the another Adriatic pearl, Zadar. Visit to the old town and free time. Afternoon drive towards Plitvice lakes. Overnight in Plitvice lakes area.

DAY 14: Plitvice lakes and Opatija
Morning visit to Plitvice NP and possibility to ave a walking tour in Plitvice lakes (admission fee not included – to be paid on the spot, maps and explanations in written are provided by the National park ) Afternoon drive towards Slovenia, with stop over at Opatija, one of the most famous resorts in Istria peninsula. Crossing into Slovenia and overnight at Postojna area.

DAY 15: Postojna cave and Bled lake
Visit to Postojna cave, the biggest cave in Europe (admission fee not included, to be paid on the spot). In the afternoon drive towards lake Bled – one of the most famous Slovenian sights. Drive to Bled castle (admission fee is not included, to be paid on the spot) and possibility to visit Bled island (row boat fee not included, to be paid on the spot). Afternoon arrival in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital. O/N in Ljubljana, hotel 4*.

DAY 16: From Ljubljana to Zagreb
Private guided walking tour in Ljubljana city center before departure to Zagreb. In the afternoon, private Zagreb walking tour and time at leisure in the city center. Overnight in Zagreb, hotel 4*.

DAY 17: Welcome to Serbia
Long distance drive to Belgrade, the Serbian capital with several stops and coffee breaks. Afternoon at leisure in Belgarde with possibility to have a nice dinner at bohemian quarter Skadarlija.
Overnight at 4* centrally located hotel in Belgrade.

DAY 18: Belgrade and Novi Sad
Full day excursion (private guided tour) – morning visit to Novi Sad, the picturesque city in Vojvodina. Drive back to Belgrade via Frushka gora, with stop at one of several monasteries in the area. Afternoon time to explore the city of Belgrade. Walking on the main pedestrian zone Knez Mihajlova street and visit to Kalemendan site. O/N at centrally located 4* hotel in Belgrade.

DAY 19: Departure
Depending on the flights schedule transfer to Belgrade airport.

Possible tour extension to Bulgaria
(Accommodation for the last night in Sofia is not included in the package price)

DAY 19: Leaving Belgrade and welcome to Bulgaria
Long distance drive to Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, with stop over at Nis and visit to Nis fortress. Evening at leisure and overnight in Sofia, hotels BW Bristol 4* or BW Tracia 4*

DAY 20: Sofia and Rila Monastery
Morning guided Sofia city tour by walking. Later on, drive towards Rila Monastery, the Bulgarian icon and UNESCO site. Visit to the monastery and drive towards small town of Velingrad, famous as SPA center for overnight.

DAY 21: Plovdiv and Bachkovo monastery
Morning drive to Plovdiv, the second biggest town in Bulgaria. Guided Plovdiv city tour and afternoon drive towards Veliko Tarnvo, via Kazanlak. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo .

DAY 22: Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanasi and back to Sofia
Morning private guided tour Veliko Tarnovo and traditional village Arbanassi. Drive back to Sofia.
End of the tour.
